King Asa and God

* 2 Chron 15: 9 Then he assembled all Judah and Benjamin and the people from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who had settled among them, for large numbers had come over to him from Israel *when they saw that the**Lord his God was with him.*

Many people joined the revival because of a single man ASA. When they saw Asa, His life, His behavior, his godly discipline, his pursuit of holiness and subjection of his enemies: they couldn't help but see that the LORD God was with him. It was not simply Asa, but they along with Asa were looking at God. His life became the evidence of things not seen. Through a visible Asa, the people saw the invisible God. This led to people to respond in faith and and revival was born.

The people lived in a period when they realized no God, no teachings of priest or no law.(v3) Things they knew about God was simply vague or just on paper or in head.

All changed when they saw the life of Asa. His life became the substance of things hoped for. His faith in God could not be evaded. His faith led others to believe. He was the light pointing out to a city build on a hill, an eternity and a world to come, another kingdom. His life became what people otherwise would not see.

*they saw:* Gen_39:3; 1Sa_18:28 ; 1Ki_3:28 ; Zec_8:21-23; Act_7:9-10, Act_9:31

For me as a Christian, I see that the Lord is not simply with me, but in me. Over the new testament, it becomes more powerful and an imperative for me as a Christian to live like Asa. It's no more me, But CHRIST IN me. Lord Jesus came to be WITH us -Emmanuel, but when He left this world, He sent His Spirit to dwell IN me. Paul says that Christ in You, the Hope of glory.  And so people around me should see Christ and the glory of eternity I hope for.  My life ought to be the evidence of things not seen and substance of things hoped for.  My transformation from one glory to another glory, even the glory of the Image of God Lord Jesus Christ should be visible.

Overcoming temptation

i guess chriatian life's not easy in this world.

the biggest challenge i face is overcoming temptations and
to obey God's voice.

spirutality isnt defined in a Moment
its here today and gone tommorow.

the easiest way of overcoming temptation is to Look at Lord Jesus Christ

We see Peter sinking while walking on water. He had a desire to walk and do wht Lord Was doing but he had to overcome the boistrous storm. Face the waves taller than him. he had to be over them to walk on water. he started to walk until he began to sink. the waves started to take a toll on him.

how come all suddenly- a sincere desire folowed, by a surprising defeat?
the scripture says It all.

It says peter looked at the waves and started to sink.
The moment he took his eyes From the Lord, there was only one place to look then, tht is the waves.

he started to look at the very things tht dreaded him. he started to gaze at the very thing tht would give him death and take to the depts of the sea. helooked at his enemy and failed.

If he wanted victory, then it was eveident he had to overcome the tall and stout waves.
It was impossible to do so on his own might.
He had to look At the Lord Jesus;
thts how he started his walk but took his eyes from Jesus later own.

the very dreaded , tall waves tht would kill him were under the feet of Our Lord.

So It was just the matter of Looking at the One who Had overcome already the thing tht which we had to over come. it was already under his feet.

had peter Looked on the Lord for somemore time till he reached Him, he wouldnt hv started to sink. The Lord Had Overcome it all, It was the matter of seeking and looking at his face; for those who looked at him , their faces werent ashmed.

If we Have to overcome temptation then we Have to Look at the one been tempted with all imfirmtites of man but has overcomed it. He was in the world and has overcomed already wht we r supposed to overcome now.

For His word says

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

He has done it . Lets look on Him for our strenght to overcome our temptation.

The old song goes

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Let all glory go to His name, Amen.
